There are four main types of LinkedIn Ads:
1 - Sponsored Content - these are in-feed ads that appear like normal posts but have a “sponsored” tag. They can be used in any of these formats:
- Single image ads
- Carousel ads
- Video ads
- Event ads
2 - Sponsored Messaging - these ads show in a user’s inbox, the benefit of these ads are that they appear as a message and remail in the inbox of that user, therefore they cannot just scroll past it and can also go back and revisit it. Formats for these ads include:
- Conversation ads
- Message ads
3 - Text Ads - these ads appear on the right-hand sidebar of your LinkedIn page, they remain visible even while a user scrolls up and down. Standard text ads will have a single image in the form of a brand logo, short advertising copy and a clickable “call to action”.
4- Dynamic Ads - these ads also appear on the right-hand sidebar of your LinkedIn page. However Dynamic Ads make use of a user’s name and picture to grab their attention.
