To get good page ranking on search engines, you need good links.
These links must be permanent and relevant so that they direct targeted traffic to your website.
When looking at links, you need to look at anchor text, link location and link intention.
» Anchor text is the text visitors click on to follow a link. Anchor text must give some sort of semantic value (not just the words ‘click
here’).
» Link location is obvious. Is your link shallow or deep? Search engines enjoy deep links, because they have been interpreted as having
come from people who find page content useful and want to share it with their users.
» Link intention has to be kept in mind as well. You must consider the search engine value of a link. If someone links to your website and
references you on a specific topic, that link adds great weight and value to your website.
